زال کي ٻڌي ٻانهون جيءُ جيءُ ٿا ڪريون
اسين بيگم جي ظلمن هيٺ سٺيل آهيون
اسان جي زندگين کي هن عذاب ۾ وجي تباهه ڪيو ويو آهي
هانجو اهو ئي اسان جو حال آهي
Transliteration: Zaalan joon baanhoo budhee, ahe jeeyu jeeyu karion thion. Asin Begum ji zulman heth satail aahiyoon, asaan ji zindgiyoon ke hin azaab mein waji tabah kio wiyo aahe. Haanjo ahoo hi asaan jo haal aahe.
Translation:
Having tied the hands of women, they cry out in agony.
We are the ones oppressed by the Begum, and our lives have become miserable.
This is our condition now.

ڏندن بهڻ سس ڪڙي به ڪي پان جي فرمائش
هن عمر ۾ به رنگ ڪري ٿي، واه يار ڪمال آ
Transliteration: Har roz munhja waar chhaki thi dangi munhji zaal aa. Dandan bhaghal sis karradi bhi kai paan ji farmaish. Hun umar mein bhi rang kari thi, waah yaar kamaal aa.
Translation:
Every day, my wife pulls my hair and nags at me.
Even my old mother-in-law with broken teeth demanded paan.
At this age, she still dyes her hair – wow, my friend, what a marvel!

ڪڪڙن، سئون ۽ سيري بجائي دوست خريائي ڊال آ
Transliteration: Mahngaai chellha toori aaj bhi khatmi mein milan ke maan. Kukkadan, sewan aen seeri bajaye dost kharaai daal aa.
Translation:
Despite the high cost of living and difficulties, I still attend the gathering today.
Instead of chicken, meat, and sweets, my friends are served simple dal (lentils).
