GHAZAL

ABOUT SINDH PAKISTAN

Popular traditions and classical forms of resistance poetry, along with contemporary innovations, Sindhi poetry remains firmly rooted in its history. Sindhi, which dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization, is one of the oldest languages of South Asia.

The Sindhis (/ˈsɪndiːoo/; Sindhi: سنڌي (Persian-Arabic), सिन्धी (Devanagari), romanized: sindhī) are an Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group who speak the Sindhi language and originate from the Sindh province of Pakistan.

There are many different dialects in Sindhi such as Vicholi, Lari, Lasi, Kathiawari katchi, Thareli, Macharia, Dukslinu and Muslim Sindhi. The Siraiki dialect of northern Sindhi is distinct from the Saraiki language of southern Punjab and has been variously treated as its dialect or as a Sindhi dialect.

SINDHI CULTURE

The people of Sindh specialize in a variety of arts and crafts. In the province you can find exquisite pottery, a variety of tiles, lacquered items, hand-woven fabrics such as susi and ajrak, and a variety of leather and straw products. There are several folk festivals that are part of Sindhi culture.
